The ArchRanger is the strongest shooter in terms of raw damage, being able to pummel her enemies down in a few well placed shots or a single volley. She wastes no movement on fancy acrobatics, just hard and fast shots, designed to kill. Her strengths are in short to mid range combat; not long range, as she is able to dish out some melee attacks to control her opponents, while going in for the kill.

  • Type: Aerial Maneuver
  • For a stationary archer like Lire, Dodge comes in very handy and gives her a boost to evasion, especially since the aggressive AI won't give her much time to stand and shoot in safety.
  • ArchRanger has a very slow breakaway time from her shooting stances, hence this Dodge skill becomes very critical to her survival. It is also the ultimate maneuver to position her for a back-attack Big Shot, which will quickly cripple any boss to near death.
 Inherent Techniques:
  • Upward Jab (↑Z during a jump)
  • Uses her large arrow to swipe directly upwards at an enemy's feet. This is a thrust attack and thus has more vertical range and no sweeping range.
  • Forward Jab (↓ during shooting combo)
  • Uses her large arrow to thrust it forwards, stabbing the enemy a short distance ahead. Not too useful as it still leaves the enemy standing while Lire has a long recovery time from this attack.
  • Launching Swing (↑ during shooting combo)
  • Uses her bow to toss an enemy into the air, useful for breaking the momentum of enemy forces, especially to stop possible counterattacks and crowd control.
  • Launching Swing (→→← + Z)
  • Same attack as above but the dashing version. This one moves forward more due to the inertia from dashing.

  • Rapid Fire's effects are best felt when using ArchRanger to strafe around her enemy, as it allows her to fire and get behind quicker.
  • Keep the ArchRanger mobile. To emphasize, her strength isn't in shooting from afar, but from up close, strafing the enemy as you move.
  • ArchRanger's arrows are barely affected by gravity as they travel in a straighter trajectory. This makes long range archery a poor choice of attack and especially difficult to aim.
  • Arrow Defense can be overcome by using the "Up" melee attack in mid combo which tosses the enemy back. Lire can then get behind and pummel it with arrows.
  • All of ArchRanger's skills can bypass Arrow Defense.
  • Few can stand against the might of Big Shot, use it to take down mini-bosses in an instant and relieve yourself/team of an immediate threat.
Skill Tree Setup:

Shoot Down: Ace Marksman
Allows Lire and all her job classes to shoot down enemy projectiles and also those from Jump-stages

Advance: (Elven Speed, Elven Resilience, Rapid Fire)
ES: Increases movement speed for 15 seconds, 20 second cooldown
ER: Increases MP Regen for 10 seconds, 20 second cooldown
RF: Increases Rate of Fire for 10 seconds, 30 second cooldown

Evasion: Elven Agility
This ability "teleports" Lire into the air behind her enemy and faces them. Though rarely used in the dungeon scene, this skill presents the perfect opportunity for back attacks at no cost, no cooldown and potentially pull you out of danger in a cornered scenario.

Skill Setup:

*Yes, that is not an error*
Tier 1:

Hyper Shot
  • Type: Projectile, Pierce, Impact
  • Range: Long
  • Damage: Burst
  • Animation: Short
  • Fires an arrow forward that pierces through and knocks down enemies.
  • Arrow is not affected by gravity and flies straight ahead

Tier 2:

White Wind
  • Type: Close-In, Linear
  • Range: Mid
  • Damage: Multi
  • Animation: Long
  • Pivoting on an arrow, Lire gyrates at high speed and attacks enemies on her arrow axle
  • Pressing the direction keys moves her along, *note that changing direction also no longer slows her inertia down
  • White Wind now deals larger amounts of damage than before.

Tier 3:

  • Type: Linear, Splash
  • Range: Wide (Horizontally)
  • Damage: Burst
  • Animation: Very Long
  • Lire launches a stream of arrows into the air, seconds later falling in a horizontal line that showers the ground with splash explosions
  • Enemies take some damage when the arrows begin their descent. The ascending ones are just for effect and do nothing.
  • Position is important when using Chakra against enemies scattered all over a stage. The arrows will explode at the platform level that you are standing on, otherwise the rest will fall below and explode on the next lower platform (if you're not on the base platform)
  • Given the strike mechanics of the skill, the wider-bodied your enemy is, the more damage they will take.

Tier 4:

Big Shot
  • Type: Projectile, Splash, Damage-Stack
  • Range: Long
  • Damage: Burst
  • Animation: Short
  • Fires a large arrow forward, which explodes upon contact with the enemy.
  • Damage Stacking occurs if multiple enemies are bunched together when the arrow strikes, creating one extra hit for each enemy stacked along with the initial 2 hits.
  • Arrow is not affected by gravity and flies straight ahead.
  • This arrow is very sensitive with vertical range and may prematurely detonate if it comes into near contact with any enemy object.
  • The arrow can fly either up or down upon firing with key control (one direction only)
